Sarah Palin on Obama’s primary victory over Hillary: “So Sambo beat the bitch!”
Via LA Progressive:
“So Sambo beat the bitch!”
This is how Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin described Barack Obama’s win over Hillary Clinton to political colleagues in a restaurant a few days after Obama locked up the Democratic Party presidential nomination.
According to Lucille, the waitress serving her table at the time and who asked that her last name not be used, Gov. Palin was eating lunch with five or six people when the subject of the Democrat’s primary battle came up. The governor, seemingly not caring that people at nearby tables would likely hear her, uttered the slur and then laughed loudly as her meal mates joined in appreciatively.
Wow. Just.. wow.
UPDATE: Wonkette has picked up on this one too.

This is just sad. Unfounded rumor by an unidentified person, without 3rd party corroboration. Get it on tape. Then we’ll believe it.
Just because Biden puts out slurs left and right, don’t try to pin it on Palin.

So by that logic, John McCain’s POW experience never happened because it’s not on tape? Grow a brain.

I agree that whether you support Palin or ANYONE, post rumors as fact is very dangerous. Without proof this is nothing more then a potentially slanderous comment. I expect more …

If Sarah Palin has showed racism in her political career, then find out where it is on the record of her official decisions and statements. Alaska has a native population that is marginalized. Has she been a good governor to them? that’s where you will find real news, not in anonymous rumors. If Lucille won’t go on the record, nothing she says counts.
