John McCain collecting social security benefits

Check this out via USA Today:

Republican presidential candidate John McCain had income of $405,409 in 2007 and $358,414 in 2006, his campaign just announced — figures that do not reflect the wealth of his wife, Cindy, but rather focus on his earnings as a U.S. senator, author, Social Security recipient and U.S. Navy veteran who receives a pension.

Wait, what!? By no means has McCain broken the law here, but considering the fact that he is making over $400,000 a year, is married to a multi-millionaire (not to mention a thief and pill popper) and is also a Republican who advocated for private savings accounts as a means of shoring up the looming Social Security shortfall, doesn’t this make him just a bit of a HYPOCRITE!?

While I agree it is a little silly, it still is completely 100% legal. So I can not fault him for something that I would probably do also, and I am very sure many other wealthy people do also.

The point is he shouldn’t be advocating private savings accounts as a means of shoring up the looming Social Security shortfall while he himself continues to accept money he (and let’s be honest here) DOESN’T NEED.

Teachers cannot collect Social Security because of the Federal Law called
Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Offset Pension. They (the gov.)
do not want us teachers double dipping. That’s called a WINDFALL.

Since McCain collects a government military pension–how can he get Social
Security even if he did pay into it as many teachers have?

You misspelled hypocrite. Also, he paid into social security, why shouldn’t he be able to draw from it? Would you guys turn away money that was given to you, even if you didn’t need it? I seriously doubt it. You liberals sure like to get outraged!

While I definitely have issue with John McCain using Social Security and Veteran’s pension as means of income given his wife’s earnings, it is best to make your point with correct spelling.

Josh aka concerned, next time you try and over-exaggerate a mistake by pointing it out twice in the span of two minutes you might want to make sure you’re doing it from two different IP addresses. LOL. ALSO, to answer your question, if I was running for President and loved to talk about pork spending and yaddah yaddah yaddah, no I would not be accepting social security benefits.
